Things to do in West Michigan this Summer

1. Breathe Deep on the Blue Bridge
Attend this family friendly event in downtown Grand Rapids. All donations will benefit the American Lung Association. Participate in a variety of activities on July 15th including yoga, face painting, raffle prizes, local vendors, refreshments, and music. For more information, click here.

2. Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival
The Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival is a patriotic celebration honoring the men and women of the United States Coast Guard. It takes place in and around the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium in Grand Haven from July 28th through August 6th. Highlights include two parades, musical entertainment, cardboard boat race, flea market, carnival, memorial service, car show, and fireworks. 3. Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

4. Swing Dance in Rosa Parks Circle
Every Tuesday at 7pm, participate in swing dancing. All experience levels are welcome. Come by yourself or bring a dance partner! For more information, click here.

5. Grand Rapids Color Run
The Color Run is a five-kilometer, untimed event. At each kilometer mark, Color Runners are doused in a colored powder. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race covered head to toe in color. This event takes place at the Calder Plaza on July 23rd. For more information, click here.

6. Berlin Fair
Come out to enjoy Michigan’s longest running fair that first started back in 1855! It takes place in the village of Marne (formerly Berlin) just 10 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. This event is from July 3rd through July 8th. Visit the Berlin Fair website to learn more.

7. Grand Rapids Foodie Fest 2023
Stop by Calder Plaza to experience this three-day event from June 30th through July 2nd between 11am and 10pm. You can enjoy live music, dance performances, local merchants, and of course, delicious curated foods and drinks. Find more information on the Foodie Fest website.

8. 41st Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts
This weeklong event is comprised of a variety of activities including a concert series, 5k run, parade, and cornhole tournament. This festival takes place at 650 S. Riverview Drive in Parchment, Michigan and occurs from July 12th through July 17th. Visit the Kindleberger website to learn more.

9. Kalamazoo Ribfest
August 4th and 5th will be filled with food, entertainment, and fun. Arcadia Creek Festival Place hosts this event from 12pm until 11pm. Proceeds go to benefit Arc Community Advocates. Ribfest features local and national rib vendors. This event also brings in national rock and country musical artists as well as local bands.
