Meet Brad Bruinsma!
Why did you choose this career path?
“I’ve always been passionate about commercial real estate, finance, people, and marketing. My role as the General Manager allows me to combine and integrate all four of these daily.”
How do you keep yourself from getting burnt out?
“For me it’s been pretty easy! Work isn’t the #1 thing in my life. It’s faith 1st, family 2nd, and work is probably 3rd or 4th. I love what I do, and it plays a very important part to who I am, but it doesn’t define me. Being involved in other things in my life other than work keeps me from getting burnt out.”
What values and beliefs define the way you do business?
“I try to integrate faith into everything that I do at work. I try to treat people the way I would want to be treated. From a leadership standpoint, I try to take on the role of a servant leader, putting others before myself and going the extra mile to serve the people around me.”
Being the General Manager, what has been your biggest challenge?
“I think it’s probably how broad my job description is. There are big picture things I’m working on that deal with strategic initiatives for the company as a whole, but there are also day to day small tasks that come up that I view just as important. The challenge is trying to balance all that stuff each day.”
Where do you see commercial real estate in 5-10 years?
“I think the fundamentals of commercial real estate are going to remain the same, however the things that are changing the quickest in this industry are technology and marketing. Looking 5 years down the road, we will be much more technologically advanced in the way we market properties and provide services.”
If you had one piece of advice for someone starting out in commercial real estate, what would that be?
“Make sure everything you do carries a purpose. Make a plan and work it each day. In this industry you can never have enough data and information readily available. The earlier you start tracking this data and can refer back to it, the more effective and successful you will be.”
What do you enjoy most about working for NAI Wisinski?
“Definitely the people who work here! We have a great group of people that work hard but understand we all have lives outside of work too. We certainly talk about work often while we’re here, but we talk about our lives outside of work as well. I also think we have a fantastic culture that focuses on being caring and compassionate towards one another. I look forward to coming into work every day!”
